Is this the official WordPress MCP Adapter?
No. WordPress ships a free transport. WP Adapter is a product on top: curated tools, origin Policy, audit, rollback, and a cloud MCP at wpadapter.com. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or owned by the WordPress Foundation. WP Adapter vs WordPress MCP Adapter.
Are WP Adapter and WP Adapter Forms the same plugin?
No. Two zips, two jobs, two prices. WP Adapter edits WordPress. WP Adapter Forms is the form plugin — €49 / year, unlimited sites. Same MCP URL, different tools.
Is WP Adapter Forms the same as WPForms?
No. Different company, different plugin, different zip. WPForms is a drag-and-drop builder you live in. WP Adapter Forms is Claude writing the form. We are not affiliated with WPForms. Their Elite plan is $599 / year for unlimited sites. Ours is €49.
Which AIs work?
First: Depaza.eu. Then Claude Cowork, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, Grok. All of them use https://wpadapter.com/mcp.
How do I connect from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT web, Plus and up. Turn on Developer mode, add a custom app at chatgpt.com/plugins pointing at https://wpadapter.com/mcp, choose OAuth, sign in, then tick WP Adapter in that chat. ChatGPT chapter.
Can it go live without me?
Editor (Pro): Allow publish is on by default. Tick Draft-only to lock it. Lite stays drafts. Forms: draft until you set-form-status live. WooCommerce products start draft too. Set slug before going live if the title has æ/ø/å.
Does it talk to WooCommerce?
Yes, in the editor zip — products, stock, orders. WooCommerce must be active on the origin. No extra plugin. Coupons, customers, and payment refunds are not in this version. WooCommerce chapter.
Can Claude update WordPress or install a plugin?
Only if you turn that on under Policy, Pro. Plugins: wordpress.org slug only, never a zip. Core is a separate flag. Neither can be rolled back from Snapshots.
Will Claude wreck my Elementor or Divi page?
That is why people use the editor. Default mode=patch changes the words inside the layout you already have. A full replace needs Policy → Allow replace (Pro) and an explicit mode=replace. Theme PHP is never edited. A new Divi landing is native [et_pb_section] shortcodes in content_divi — Visual Builder on, still a draft. Read get-site.playbooks first.
Can I see a draft without publishing?
Yes. preview-post mints a signed visitor URL for 24 hours. The public slug 404s until you hit publish. inspect-front on a draft id issues that preview and fetches it.
The page looks wrong — white cards, 15px radius, a hero overlay?
Global CSS is winning. search-css needle et_pb_column or border-radius: 15px. Then get-site-css (Additional CSS, Divi Custom CSS, HFCM, Divi globals). update-site-css and purge-cache are on by default. Never write PHP.
Which page builders?
Gutenberg, Classic, Elementor, Divi 4, Divi 5, Bricks, Beaver Builder, WPBakery, Breakdance, Oxygen. Unknown builders are detected and not flattened.
Do I use a WordPress application password?
No. Not on the cloud path. Claude talks to wpadapter.com. WordPress gets a wpa_site_ HMAC from Connect this site.
What is the difference between wpa_live_ and wpa_site_?
wpa_live_ is the MCP key in Claude / Cursor. wpa_site_ is pasted into WordPress → Connect. Do not swap them. MCP & keys.
How many sites?
Editor: Pro 5, Pro Max 50, Agency Lite 300, Agency X 9,999. Forms: unlimited on the €49 plan. A site is a WordPress origin you pair. Mid-year upgrades charge only the leftover-year difference — Account or pricing.
I already have Pro. Do I need Forms?
If Pro was bought before Forms was its own product, Forms may already be on those sites. New Pro is the editor plugin. Forms is €49 if you want the form zip too — or skip Pro and only buy Forms.
Who takes the card payment on a form?
You. Paste your Stripe pk_ and sk_ in Account → Forms. Checkout is your Stripe. We never see cards.
Can a form go live without me?
Not by default. Forms start as drafts. You still hit live.
What does Forms v1 actually do?
Contact fields including tel, date, radio, url. Stripe Checkout in EUR, DKK, and other currencies — one-time or monthly/yearly. Notify email to you. Embed on any page. File uploads, payment-select totals, and branching logic are not in this version. Unknown field types error instead of becoming a text field.
Why was my notify email rejected?
It must be the account, an org member, or the WordPress site’s own domain.
Where do form entries live?
Account → Forms, and via list-entries / get-entry. They do not sit in a WPForms-style inbox inside WordPress.
The key sees several sites. Now what?
Call list-sites and pass site_id on later tools. Client keys (Agency) are already locked to one site.
Can the customer have their own key?
Agency Lite and Agency X: invite them as Client. They never need wp-admin. Agency chapter.
What does rollback restore?
Title, content, excerpt, status, slug, taxonomies, featured image, and wp_adapter_* / canvas meta we snapshot. Not every plugin’s post meta.
What is the rate limit?
Editor writes: 60 / minute / WordPress user. Form submits: 10 / minute / visitor IP.
Which WordPress version?
7.1.3+. PHP 8.1+. HTTPS. Abilities API arrived in 6.9.
How do I disconnect?
Reconnect or overwrite the site key in WP Adapter → Connect. Revoke MCP keys in Account → Keys. Deactivating the plugin keeps tables and settings; it does not wipe the cloud account.
What never ships?
eval, plugin install, theme PHP edits, SQL, force-delete, open-ended options, create_user, a public origin MCP server. Allowed options if toggled: blogname, blogdescription.
Does post content leave my WordPress?
It may transit WP Adapter Cloud in order to patch a layout. We do not sell that content. See Privacy.
