A two-minute walkthrough: get the plugin, put it on WordPress, link the site, and add WP Adapter to Claude. The same steps are written out below the video.

Download the plugin
On wpadapter.com/plugin, click Download plugin zip. You get
wp-adapter-0.5.5.zip. Your site needs WordPress 6.9+, PHP 8.1+ and HTTPS. -

Install it in WordPress
Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin. Choose the zip, click Install Now, then Activate Plugin. A WP Adapter menu appears in the sidebar, with a yellow notice: “WP Adapter is not connected yet.”

Connect this site
Click Connect this WordPress in the notice (or WP Adapter → Connect), then Connect this site. Sign in on wpadapter.com — or pick a plan — and you are sent straight back to “This WordPress is linked.”
Optional: WP Adapter → Setup tells Claude which builder to write to (Auto keeps what we detect) and whether to rewrite copy, build pages, or both.

Add WP Adapter to Claude
Click Connect Claude in the plugin, or open Account → Connect. The MCP address is always this — never your WordPress URL:

- Add custom connector. Name: WP Adapter. URL:
https://wpadapter.com/mcp. Leave OAuth Client ID blank. - Add, then Connect. Click Allow Claude on the next screen.

Ask your first question
Start a new chat and switch the WP Adapter connector on. Ask
list-sites— your site should show up. Then give it a real job:Rewrite the about page. Keep it a draft.Drafts stay drafts until you publish in WordPress. To block publishing entirely, turn it off under WP Adapter → Policy.
Claude Code, Cursor, Grok
Same URL. Bearer key.
These clients do not open a sign-in browser. Mint a key once in Account → Connect and send it as Authorization: Bearer wpa_live_…. A key that starts with wpa_site_ belongs in WordPress, not here.
